There was general consensus that without well-functioning software systems, retailers are not in the position to offer the customer experience that today’s consumers expect.

In association with Marks & Spencer, Intel, Impinj and noted futurologist Patrick Dixon a vision of the future was demonstrated to a selected group of UK’s retail industry.

Detego and partners presented how traditional ‘bricks and mortar’ retailers can gain back sales from online competitors and build efficient omni-channel retailing without upsetting their existing infrastructure. The key is to integrate and add intelligence to pivot existing services by better stock control and awareness – and therefore the use of staff.

Attendees were able to change the way they view the entire retail supply chain, from distribution centres via the shop floor into the hands of shoppers and learnt invaluable techniques to future-proof their businesses.

From February 23rd–25th, 2016 Detego was attending this year’s EuroCIS – Europe’s leading Trade Fair for Retail Technology. 400 exhibitors from 29 countries were demonstrating their retail solutions and let visitors benefit from a professional exchange on top-level.

Innovative fashion retailers already use the potential of real-time article transparency and thus lay the foundation for their strategic challenges especially regarding digitalisation and omni-channel.

Further practical implementation ideas for the digital future in fashion retail were provided by Uwe Hennig, CEO at Detego with his presentation „Everyone claims Omni-channel but no one is really doing it – How marketing budgets ruin the supply chain“ at the Omni-channel Forum.
